1. boy, walking; blond hair, painted facial features; white shirt, black tie, tan jumper and socks tops, blue shorts and socks, black shoes; non moving arms, right bent and by side of body, left in front of body; base light brown. Ht. 2¼in
2. pig, walking on hind legs; brown head and tail; white waistcoat, black tie and tailed coat, dark brown trousers, silver top hat; base dark green

11. frog, walking with umbrella, dark green head and jacket, red mouth and eyes, black hat, white/cream waistcoat, silver breeches, blue legs, olive green umbrella, base dark green. Ht. 1 5/8in
12-15. frogs, walking with umbrellas, olive green heads, jacket and umbrellas, black hats, red eyes and mouths, white waistcoats, yellow legs, grey breeches; bases olive green. These are the same design as (11) but painted quite differently. Ht. 1 5/8in
16. fox, standing with a cane, dark brown head and tail, red tailed jacket, white waistcoat and breeches, black boots and cane. Rrepresents a huntsman. Ht. 1 5/8in
17. badger, standing with hands in pockets, white head and tail; white shirt, red kerchief, blue jacket and brown trousers. Ht. 1½in
18. badger, as (17) with different paintwork, darker blue jacket and olive green trousers. Ht. 1½in
19. penquin, standing with head up; white and black with a ginger brown beak and trousers. Ht. 1½in
20. penquin, as (19) painted black and white with dark red trousers.

The Cadbury company formed a children's club, COCOCUBS CLUB, and each animal was given a name. The mascot was the duck , DUMPY DO DUCK, whose image was also used on an enamel badge (7). Those with known names are dog, (6), who was PETER PUM POODLE; the rabbit WHISKERS; the pelican PATSY; TUBBY BEAR; CAPTAIN KANGAROO; SQUIRE ROOSTER (4); and TINY TRUNKS ELEPHANT. The boy JONATHAN was the only human represented. There was one other boy, eating a bar of chocolate but he was not part of this set.

Object history
References: Cadbury's Cocoa Figures were an advertising gimmick. The figures came in tins of cocoa powder, they were not sold or obtained separately.
One is a boy and the rest ae caricatures in the form of dressed animals.

The donor, born 26/09/1924, remembers his mother buying the tins and opening them to find the figures. He was about 6 at the time.
