Riding habit consisting of a jacket and skirt of fine black woollen face cloth.

The jacket is hip length. It is cut to fit closely to the figure at the back, where there are short pleated tails, and at the front, though only fastened at the neck. The collar is wide and curved, and the sleeves are long and pleated at the shoulder. There is a self-covered braided border with formal floral motifs surrounding square insets of white satin, in the centre of which is a black braid covered button, and a similar trimming is on the collar and sleeves. Lined with white satin.

The skirt is closed, shaped and fastens on the left hip with hooks and eyes at the waist and a placket with black satin covered buttons. Two similar buttons are stitched at the centre back on the waist. The waistband is faced with white cotton. two straps inside the skirt to hold the feet in place while mounted side saddle.
