Fichu, or pañuelo, of loosely knitted vegetable fibre, likely to be piña, a textile derived from pineapple tree leaf fibres. Triangular in shape, with long pointed ends, the centre has a small overlapping pattern, arranged diagonally. The border is of a larger overlapping repeat pattern. 19th century.
