Evening shawl of hand woven silk and rayon. It has a fine black silk warp with a coarser rayon weft forming a broken twill ground. The weft is shaded from a steel grey at each end, through pale grey, to a wide central band of pale yellow. Each end has a horizontal ornamental band of three decorated roundels within lines of lozenges in yellow rayon. The shawl has narrow borders of a simple geometric repeat in yellow at the ends and grey along the central area. A long twisted rayon fringe is knotted into three edges. The piece is lined with yellow chiffon.
