Evening shawl of hand woven silk and rayon. It has a fine black silk warp with rayon weft forming a broken twill ground. The weft is shaded from dark blue at each end, gradually through bright mid-blue, to a wide central area of steel grey. Each end has a stylised floral spray brocaded in yellow rayon. A long twisted rayon fringe bright blue at the ends and steel grey along the central area, is knotted into three edges. It has a lining of pale grey chiffon. The rayons were dyed with aniline dyestuffs.
