Curtain made of hand-woven silk and rayon. Grey silk warp with a coarser rayon weft forming a 2/2 twill. The lower two thirds of the curtain has a weft of pale gold which shades gradually to a deep burnt orange at the top hem. The top third is brocaded with a large stylised long necked bird in flight ('Calimala' bird). Grey supplementary rayon wefts form the bird's body and the eye is detailed in black and white.
The bottom has a narrow hem and the top is turned with part of a net lining attached. Rufflette tape has small brass rings sewn along its length.
