Lapkin of damask and jacquard woven cream linen with a central strip of crimson linen (14cm wide, vertical in weaving and horizontal in use) which is in damask with a centre roundel enclosing linear representations of a stag and hound with a foliage surround which forms two central bands ('Royal Scots Stag' design). Above is a coronet. Below the crimson strip are two pairs of stylised hounds which are confronted about a foliate oval frame and there is a space for the embroidered monogram of the owner. The selvedges remain unturned and the two remaining edges are hemmed by hand.
