Embroidered gold and tinsel on cotton. The upper two-thirds of the stomacher is embroidered with a floral design consisting of two units of a modification of the "rose spray" pattern. There is a narrow embroidered border all round. At the top is a padded bar with strings attached to hang it round the neck. At the bottom is a piece of plain red satin.

Object history
The rose spray pattern in metal threads shows marked Turkish influence. Two similar pieces are illustrated by Monte Santo (L'Isola dei Gigli, p. 80).
