Man’s shirt made of linen known as 'coarse holland', 29½ inches (75 cm) wide, with a thread count of 86 × 86 per inch, sewn with linen thread. The full width was used for the body and sleeves. It ‘T-shaped’, constructed of rectangular pieces: body, collar, 2 sleeves, 2 shoulder straps, 2 cuffs, 2 sleeve gussets, 2 side gussets and 2 neck gussets. The collar is 3⅞ inches (9.5 cm) deep, fastening with 3 Dorset [linen thread) buttons and worked button holes, with another button and buttonhole half way down the front opening. The wristbands are 2 inches (5 cm) deep, each fastening with a Dorset button and buttonhole.
