Coat of black satin, un-waisted and gored from the shoulders so that the bottom is flared. The gores are emphasised by a line of black silk braid. Silk fur fabric forms the small round collar and is stitched in a band down either side of the front opening, so graduated that it widens into a broad scalloped border at the hem. The cuffs are of the same material. It is interlined and lined with black crêpe. It fastens at the neck with a black cut jet button, and there is a loop for another button at hip level.
