DAY ENSEMBLE DRESS AND JACKET Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Paris, Autumn/Winter 1987 Wool bouclé and wool jersey Karl Lagerfeld has retained the classic quality of the Chanel suit with its cardigan style, collarless jacket finished with gilt buttons and weighted chain, worn with a fitted short-sleeved dress. The combination of striped wool bouclé and plain wool jersey recalls the soft tweeds and braided trimmings of the earlier styles while at the same time introducing a contemporary wide-shouldered silhouette and short tight skirt.
