Woven coral pink silk damask panel, brocaded in gold and silver. It is made up from several pieces of the same material, and has a border of silver braid all round. It is lined with bright yellow taffetta. The material has a semi-bizarre design in gold and silver thread composed of curling scrolls and exotic fruit. The main details of the design are echoed in the damask pattern. There are at least 3 repeats in the width of the material.

Technical details
Tissue, with damask ground based on a satin of 5. The brocaded metal wefts are used in pairs (file). The gold thread is made from a silver strip wound on a yellow silk core. The silver thread is wound on a white silk core. The brocaded wefts are bound in 3/1 twill. The binding warp is taken from the ground.
