Object history | References: Produced by the bank as an encouragement for children to save. Money boxes and banks, designed for children's use, have been acceptable learning toys since the early 19th century. They are thought to encourage not only saving but counting skills. The bank did not trade under this name for a long period and became part of The Royal Bank of Scotland. |
