Tapestry. Adonis killed by a Boar. Woven in coloured wools and silks on woollen warps. 24 warps to the inch. Adonis wearing a breast plate and holding a bow has fallen on one knee before the onslaught of a huge boar which is being attacked by two hounds. Background of landscape with trees. Border of formal leaves bound with ribbon. No Mortlake mark
