Tapestry. Atalanta's race with Hippomenes. Woven in coloured wools and silks on woollen warps. 24 warps to the inch. Hippomenes dressed in red, runs towards the right with a golden apple in his hand and glances back at Atalanta in yellow with a blue girdle who bends down to pick up another golden arrow. Landscape setting with figures in the middle distance and a town in the left background. Border of formal leaves bound with ribbon. Mortlake mark on lower right-hand side.
