Description transcribed from 1949 register:
Foreground occupied by large-scale vegetation. Behind this are five horsemen, the leader clad in a blue coat, plumed hat, and high boots, with a red saddle cloth and holsters. In the middle distance is a stream with a bridge, and a large church with spire transept and semi-circular apse. In the background is a fortified town.
Border of golden stars marked with fleur de lis and twined with fruit and flowers. In the centre of the top border is a crowned shield with three golden fleur de lis on a blue ground, and the cross of the Order of Saint Esprit below. In the top two corners of the borders is a single fleur de lis in a cartouche, and half way down the side border is a cartouche containing the LL monogram, crowned.
