Sampler of embroidered woollen canvas in coloured silks and silver-gilt threads in satin, chain, split, cross and Hungarian point stitches. In the middle within an oval compartment is the Lord's Prayer and the Apostle's Creed in parallel columns, and the inscription: 'Ann Clowser Is my name and with my needle I work the same in the year of our Lord God 1723. With all Thy Soul Love God above and as thy self thy neighbour love'. The surrounding space is filled with slender stems bearing red and white flowers and pointed leaves. The border all round has a zig zag pattern.
