Handkerchief of plate printed silk. The square of white twilled silk has been printed in black. The design, which include Freemasonry symbols, consists of the 'Eye of God' above Faith who stands on top of an arch supported by two columns standing on a tiled floor. Steps lead up to the floor and on them are placed the candlesticks with lighted candles, a beehive, crossed keys and other emblems, together with the words 'AUDI VIDE TACI'. To either side on the tiled floor stand Hope and Charity, and a coffin in the centre between them. At the far end of the floor is another arch, containing a wall with a third arch behind which stands a man with a hammer at a desk. Between the first and second arches are scattered building tools and other freemason emblems with a coat or arms beneath which are the words 'SIT LUX ET FIAT LUX'.
Between the central feature and the border are scattered more symbols, of which many are repeated. Among them are the sun, the moon and stars, the Seven Churches of Asia, the Brazen Serpent, the dove with the olive, the Jewish symbol for Jehovah, the Star of David, a ladder with ascending letters 'F H C', crossed sword and mace, and three columns, Ionic, Corinthian and Doric, surmounted by the letters 'W B S'.
The border, edged on the inside by a cord with tassels at the corners and on the outside by reciprocal dog-tooth, contains similar emblems plus crossed plumes, Noah's Ark, and two globes.
