1. Action figure, moulded plastic female with a white body suit decorated with gold wing designs and a 'crystal', gold boots and arm bands. The head is painted to show blue eyes and a pink mouth. The hair is rooted blond saran hair which can be combed. Right hand is curled and left flat open.

2. Cape, shimmering pink nylon with white nylon wings attached at the top. It has elasticated gold shoulder straps.

3. Skirt, white nylon with a gold belt and press stud fastening

4. Headdress, gold moulded plastic with hologram inserts. It is placed on the head with the pointed end under the chin.

5. Shield, gold moulded plastic

6. Sword, gold moulded plastic

7. Comb, pink plastic

Masters of the Universe figures Collected by Jermaine Dacas, aged 10–14 What we collect and own says something about us and our lives. Anything we group together can be a collection. Over four years, Jermaine spent his pocket money on nearly sixty figures from his favourite TV programme. He acted out his own stories with them, as well as scenes from the show. Object history
Bought by the donor between 1983 and 1987. Mr Dacas was born 17/10/73 and saved his pocket money to buy the toys. He played with them and created his own dramas for the characters.
Historical context
TOY TRADER JANUARY 1986: '...There is a startling new rendering of the enchantress of Eternia in the shape of Starburst She-Ra; draped and caped in gossamer and gold. She has an array of glamorous new 5½in posable friends, including Flutterina as a beautiful flying lookout and Sweet Bee who lights the way with antennae and wings which glow.'
Production
She-Ra was a principal character in the Masters of the Universe spin-off series Princess of Power, designed to appeal to young girls. This figure was released as part of its first wave in 1984.
