This toy was designed by Walter Reach for Courtland Manufacturing of New Jersey in the 1950s. It has a clockwork mechanism which operates the see-saw. It is unusual for girls to feature in cowboy related mechanical toys.

Tinplate see-saw toy, horses and children made in the USA in the 1950s
Physical description
The base is a round bottom solid structure containing the mechanism with the key protruding from the right side. To the top is attached a red see-saw. Near each end of the see-saw is attached a horse's head with rope reins. At the ends are 'sat' two children; one dressed as a cowgirl and the other as a cowboy. They are loosely jointed and move back and forth as the toy moves. The whole is lithographed tinplate in yellow and black to represent slats of wood; red; tan and brown with white and
pink heads and tan; with white; red; yellow and black for the riders.
*The mark is printed on the end surface of the base with the title on each side.
