Woman's kerchief of white silk, 1770-1790, British; painted and punched in imitation of whitework and lace
Physical description
Woman's square kerchief of white silk sarsenet painted with white pigment in rows of small sprigs and two corner devices. The borders are punched in a pattern of a continuous wavy and leafy stem and cable ornament on a circular lace-like mesh.
