Pair of trousers of fine grey wool with front falls that reaches from the left to the right hip. Two sloping front pockets behind the fall and one fob pocket in the waistband. The trouser legs are tapered to fit over the instep, and each bottom has a four buttoned strap which passes under the instep of the shoe and not the foot. High waistline and a very high back waist. The centre back waist has a 'puff' and two silk ribbons for waist adjustment. Two pairs of buttons at the front waist and a single button each side of the centre back waist to support the braces. The inside of the waistband is lined with pale blue silk and the edges are trimmed with cream silk ribbon.

Purchased. Registered File number 1985/68. With a front fall that reaches from the left to the right hip, instead of a fly, in an old-fashioned style. Apart from the falls this is a fashionable pair of trousers with a high waistline and a high back waist.
