Preproduction prototype consisting of the top half of wood, simply carved and painted dark green khaki married to a lower wheeled half of moulded plastic of the same colour. The two halves are held together with screws. The whole is mounted on 5 pairs of large black wheels and two pairs of small black wheels, all with metal axles. (Around these wheels would be placed the rubber tank tracks.) The back of the carrier is flat and high, the top slowly slopes down to a shallow nose. On the top has been placed a
round block of wood indicating the area which ultimately will form the turret opening.

This pre ptrotoype (the stage before B.491-1944) was made for costing purposes to tghe see the basic size of the blow moulded body. The body was made using the ottom part og the Scorpion tank blown moulded body and adding an upper part using sheet HIPS, sprayed green.
