Woman’s apron of ivory silk taffeta embroidered with coloured silk twist and couched with silver-gilt filé and strip over card. It is worked in satin stitch and French knots in a design of leafy stems bearing hyacinth, auricula, full- bloom tulips, roses, pansies and peonies. The apron has scalloped edges, worked in a narrow border of flowers and leaves. It is gathered in tight cartridge pleats at the waist and sewn to a ⅞-inch (2.2 cm) wide ivory silk grosgrain ribbon which forms the ties.
