Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Linen damask napkin showing the royal arms of England surmounted by a crown with a label of three points, as borne by the Duke of Kent, surrounded by the garter and by the collar of the Order of the Bath. Around this are columns wound with laurel. Across the top a bow is resting supporting a sword and the star of the Order of the Garter. The bottom of the frame is composed of a cannon, flags and the British lion resting on stony ground. Around this frame is a filling of small stars of two orders, the Garter and the Bath.

The border is composed of elements of the collar of the Order of the Garter, with black Garter ribbons around a heraldic rose, linked by chains and tasselled cords tied in bows, with the Irish harp surrounded by clover and crowned at the corners. Beneath this border is a narrow meander of trefoil leaves flanking an inscription.
