The horse and rider are of lithographed tinplate cast in two halves along the length and held by tongue and slot joints. The legs and rider are separately attached. The horse is white; grey and black with red and yellow trim and reins of red and white thread. The knight is a grey blue with red; white and pink trim and it holds a grey and red shield in the
left had. The ears are black plastic. The integral key protrudes from the left side of the body which houses the clockwork mechanism. When wound the horse rears; drops down and appears to run. At the same time the tail which is missing should spins.
*The mark is DAIYA in a diamond shape with MADE IN JAPAN. It is on the end of the horse.
