Bodice

1600-1640 (embroidered), 1700 - 1800 (altered)

The fabric is crimson satin embroidered with yellow silk in satin stitch and couched yellow and white cord. It has been pieced and made into the front of a high-necked sleeveless bodice with a gathered 'peplum' at the waist, and lined with pale green satin. The back of the bodice is coarse blue linen, with a pink silk tie at the back waist. No other means of fastening.
