Nightdress of black silk trimmed with machine-made lace. With a V-neck and elbow-length frilled sleeves. The shoulders and cuffs are trimmed with alternating bands of black lace and machine-made lace insertions arranged in a chevron pattern, and the lozenges are filled with narrow tucking which continues from the yoke to the waist. At the hem is a band of different pattern with a wide flounce edged with a machine-made lace insertion.
