Panel of cream silk grosgrain embroidered in the centre with an oval picture of Cupid sitting inside the helmet of Mars. Behind are a sword and a shield and covering the ground are an embroidered sword belt and a cloak.
The figure of Cupid, the shield and the background are painted, and the remainder of the picture is embroidered with fine floss silk, mainly in brown, beige and yellow, but with some black, green and blue, in long and short, satin and stem stitches.
