Cast and pierced censer with rococo ornament. Bulging bowl with chased shell-work and spreading foot with shaped rim. Cover is unusually tall and has three cartouches all apparently engraved with the same erased inscription which has in its second line the date 1776. The chains (wanting) passed through the holes in the upper part of the cover and linked on to the bowl.
