Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Panel of knotted work made of woollen fabric, decorated with couched knotted wool and silk, and embroidered with a little wool in long and short, satin, stem and fern stitches with lattice-work and other filling stitches.
The panel, which was probably cut from a deep valance, is decorated with elaborately curving stems bearing large, exotic leaves and flowers in bright polychrome colours. There are three main stems, rising vertically, which have been cut both at the top and bottom. The first and third stem show a repeat.
