A woman’s bedgown of bleached linen, lined with a coarser linen and corded with running stitch in bleached linen thread. A wide border with large scrolling leaves and flowers runs around the hem and up the edges of the front opening. The rest of the gown is worked in a large diamond pattern with rosettes at the intersections and a lozenge in the centre. The gown is T-shaped; the body made of one length of linen, cut open at centre front. There are triangular gores on each side, front and back. The rectangular sleeves have square gussets and a rectangular band forms the collar. The garment pieces were corded before construction of the bedgown.
