Panels from a woman’s petticoat of yellow silk taffeta, heavily pieced before quilting, and lined with undyed glazed worsted. It is quilted in running stitch with pale yellow silk thread in a 1¼ inch (3 cm) square diamond pattern with double lines, ⅜ inch (1.8 cm) apart. There are rows of parallel lines around the hem. The hem is bound with ½-inch (1.25 cm) wide pale yellow silk ribbon. Traces of the waistline pleating remain at the top.
