Woman’s jumps remade from a furnishing, possibly a coverlet of fine bleached linen embroidered with yellow silk floss, in backstitch, with a design of interlaced circles formed by links of chain, and decorated with zig-zags, stars and other geometric forms. The jumps are cut in the same shape as stays, in 8 panels, open at the front, with shoulder straps, curved skirts below the waist, which is short and straight. All the edges are bound with ⅝-inch (1.4 cm) wide yellow silk grosgrain ribbon and the skirts are lined with ivory silk sarsenet. The jumps fasten at centre front with 10 worked lacing holes on the right side and 11 on the left.
