Man’s sleeved waistcoat with a round neck, curving fronts, 2-piece curved sleeves and skirts reaching between the knee and middle of the thigh. Each front had a pocket opening and pointed pocket flap. The fronts, pocket flaps and sleeves are made of fine bleached linen twill, the back of bleached linen. The waistcoat, sleeves, pockets and pocket flaps are lined with bleached linen. The fronts, cuffs and pocket flaps are embroidered with white linen thread, using buttonhole stitch, French knots, drawn-thread and pulled fabric, in a pattern of large flowers and leaves. There are 17 worked buttonholes along the left front edge and 15 (2 now missing) corresponding Dorset thread buttons on the right front.
