Parasol with a handle made from bone, cylindrical and decorated with incised lines. Cover made from pale pink silk with a woven border of yellow and green stripes at the handle and ferrule ends, and is cut in eight triangular panels which are seamed at each rib. When open it has a dome shape. The shaft is made from brassed tubing with a moulded design of semi-classical floral trails on the handle mount, the slider and the ferrule end. The ribs are of whalebone with bone tips, and the stays are of white metal with a horseshoe shaped hinge to the rib. It is held closed with two springs catches inserted in the brass ferule.
