Place of origin

Woman’s apron of lawn, embroidered with cotton thread in satin and chain stitches with buttonholed eyelets and small areas of drawn-thread work. It is made of 2 lengths of lawn, joined by a narrow bobbin lace insertion. The scalloped edges are worked with drawn-thread work. There is a border of scrolling stems with leaves and baskets of flowers. The centre is filled with a single floral motif, repeated in rows. The apron is shaped at the waist, shorter at centre front than at the sides.
