Metal box with hinged back; enamelled black on the outside and white on the inside. The lid is pressed to show three large depressions which can be used for mixing colours. The base is divided into 3 larger compartments and 20 smaller compartments for the paint pads. There are 12 remaining paint blocks; all of which have been used. The largest of the compartments runs across the front to house the brushes and it is
lined with a paper sheet; printed in red and blue on white to show the title; trademark and list of paint colours.

References: used by Margaret (Peggy) Joyce; b.1922; the bequester's only daughter;
of 2 Quested Buildings; Brett Road; London; E8. Peggy had rheumatic fever in 1929 & died of heart failure in the Rahere Ward; St. Bartholomew's Hospital on 02/12/1930. She is buried at Abney Park Cemetery with her brother, Alan, 15/03/1921-12/09/1921
