Silk parasol and paper box.

Parasol of white moiré silk with brown moiré appliqué medallions bound with brown and white silk braid trimmed with a brown silk tassel at the base. A ruche of brown silk and braid trims the base of the tip. Lining of machine stitched white silk, and the tips and twisted handle are of ivory. The slide catch is of brass metal and two catches are of white metal wire.

The box and cover are covered with white glazed and figured paper, bound with gilt paper and with floral paper decorations Label originally glued inside the cover with 3 prize medallions: Paris 1855, London, 1851, New York 1853.
