Muff made from Indian peacock feathers (Pavo cristatus) in iridescent blue/green and gold. Barrel shaped with the openings for the hands tilted inwards. At the top the feathers are arranged to form a ruff from which dangle pendant hop-like flowers made from the same feathers. The ruff is lined with black silk and padded.

Object history | RF number is 1983/382. The muff belonged to Lady Pickthorn, the mother of Mrs N Iliff who organised the donation. Lady Pickthorn died in July 1982 and collected all her life. |
