Man’s breeches of warp-frame knitted beige silk, with wide vertical stripes. The silk has been cut and tailored like a woven fabric. Each leg is cut in 1 piece, with seams on the outside leg and at centre front and back. The waistband is cut in 2 pieces and lined with linen, with a watch pocket on the right side. The breeches fasten with 3 flat, white metal (pewter?) buttons and 3 buttonholes at centre front, 1 button and buttonhole on each corner of the fall front and 2 worked lacing holes each side of centre back. On each leg are three small buttons covered with the knitted beige silk, and linen tapes in the knee bands for tying.
