Cover woven in silk and linen. The borders are embroidered in red silk in Algerian eye stitch, back stitch and cross stitch with small hooked devices. There is a woven band set into the cloth at each end with a design of castles flanked by griffins or lions. A vase with plants separate each group.
The band with the design woven on its side, and the pattern is carried out in red silk on a white linen ground. Warp of two S-plied white linen threads and one red silk thread. Weft of one thick red silk pattern weft. One fine white silk ground weft. The pattern is bound in tabby on a tabby ground.
