Valance of plate printed white cotton with a ground pattern in red with details in pink and beige. With three framed scenes with figures in neo-classical draped costumes each depicting the Cap of Liberty. Two are the same, having a seated female figure and an angel holding aloft the Cap, but the third scene has a standing female figure and a kneeling female. Between them is an open book. Between the scenes are vases of flowers and a draped hanging on a pole of swags of flowers and birds and cherubs below. Above are draped floral and other shapes. Edged with woven silk braid. Backed with neutral coloured cotton. Label with 'J.H.'.
