Woman's petticoat made of pink silk satin, lined with coarse undyed linen and a thin wadding of coarse wool. It is quilted in running stitch with pink silk thread in a large, horizontal, scrolling floral pattern against a ground of diagonal parallel lines, with a horizontal border above the hem of plain loops against a diamond background. The petticoat is made of 5 panels of silk with pocket openings at the side seams. The full length of the petticoat has been used, with some piecing at the waist in pink silk sarsenet. There is a wide box pleat with pleats on either side at the centre front and an inverse box pleat with pleats on either side at the centre back. The waist is bound with ¾-inch (1.7 cm) wide linen tape, extending to form the ties.
