Woman’s bodice of pink and white striped and figured silk, with a brocaded floral pattern in the white stripes. It has a high, round neckline, long, curving 2-piece sleeves, and reaches to a point below the waist at the front and back. The bodice has a van-dyked hem, bound with pink silk ribbon. It is lined with linen and fastens at centre front with a lacing band with 12 worked lacing holes on each side.

The bodice was altered slightly as a studio prop in the late 19th century; the cuff openings were stitched closed and buttons replaced.
