Object history | Registered File number 1963/1086. The mantle (T.127-1963) and dress (T.124-1963) were worn together by Matilda Golland in a carte-de-visite photograph supplied by the donor taken by 'A. Brothers, Photographer, 14 St. Ann's Square, Manchester' (on reverse) and also 'International Exhibition, 1862, Honourable Mention, the only award for Portraits from Lancashire was given to A. Brothers'. The photograph is labelled 'Routh' and 'Matilda Golland'. The mantle and dress, along with a few other pieces (T.122 to 128-1963) were donated by Matilda Golland's niece, Mrs. Ida Routh, the daughter of Matilda's sister. |
