Bodice and skirt of silk woven with stripes of gauze (leno) weave interspersed with thin black stripes. The silk is printed with a pattern of floral sprays. The skirt is decorated with vertical insertions of machine-made lace and in black velvet braid. The bodice features the same lace and braid decoration around the neckline to the waist, with a panel of pink chiffon down the centre front. The double sleeves are wide, with pink chiffon from the elbow, and taper to a slim cuff decorated with the lace and velvet braid. The bodice is boned, lined in plain cream silk and a waist tape with the name of the dressmaker 'Nicaud, Paris'.
