Bodice and skirt of cream silk decorated with vertical pintucks and painted linen floral motifs appliqued with chainstitch of black thread. The bodice has a high, round neckline with a pointed front and lappets at the back. A central motif of a bouquet of flowers painted on linen is surrounded by decorative paste buttons. The fitted sleeves feature bows of black velvet ribbon at the elbow, ruffles of machine-made lace and matching buttons. The bodice is boned, lined with plain silk and features a waist tape with the retailer's name 'Derry & Toms costumes, Kensington High Street'. It fastens at the front with hook and eyes. The skirt has vertical pin tucks over each hips and vertical applique decoration of floral bouquets and black velvet ribbon, finishing three-quarters of the way down in long bows. The skirt has a deep flounce of machine-made lace.
