Remains of a box lid for a box of Christmas crackers; card covered with a dark brown paper patterned with lighter brown mushroom shapes. On the top is a label printed in colours with the title TOM SMITH'S CHRISTMAS TOY CRACKERS. The label shows a young woman with leaves and flowers in a snow scene. On the lower right side is a royal crest and BY APPOINTMENT TO H M THE QUEEN. On the underside of the lid is a printed label showing the words BY APPOINTMENT TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING AND QUEEN (Edward VII) TOM SMITH'S CHRISTMAS TOY CRACKERS with instructions and an illustration of a man and woman. This label suggests that this particular box was issued after 1901 although it had been designed before.
