Object history | The poke of the bonnet is very like the crown of a contemporary man's top hat. We also have a man's cream plush top hat from the same period which has oxidised to almost exactly the same colour as this bonnet, and is in a very similar fabric, but made in slightly larger dimensions. The main structural difference between the two hats is in the shape of their brims. See T.765B-1913 |
